High Tree Medical Clinic is an independent and privately run clinical treatment facility based in Uckfield, East Sussex. Dr Trefzer is the registered clinician supported by Registered Nutritional Therapist Michaela Jezzard.

Dr Siegfried Trefzer
Prior to his medical training, Dr Trefzer had completed a 5 yr Higher MSc degree in Geophysics at the University of Berlin which included physics, mathematics and geology, and the completion of a thesis – his subject on ‘The Behaviour of Electromagnetic waves in Solids’.
Dr Trefzer completed his 3 year pre-clinical Medical Training at the University of Bologna/ Italy before continuing his clinical training for which he chose a number of different European medical schools including Kantonsspital Basel, American Army Hospital Berlin, Hammersmith Hospital and the National Hospital for Nervous Diseases in London. His Dissertation in clinical neurophysiology and biofeedback was submitted at the Free University of Berlin in 1987. The MD dissertation on ‘EEG-Fourier-Analysis of selected cognitive trials’ became published in: ‘EEG: Approach for the Under-standing of the Higher Functions of the Brain (1988)’.
Dr Trefzer first came to the UK in 1986, then still a final year medical student at Hammersmith Hospital. After his final qualification he trained in various disciplines like A&E , anaesthetics, nephrology, neurosurgery, obstetrics & gynaecology, pain and musculo-skeletal medicine.
From 1992, Dr Trefzer became a sessional doctor at the Hospital for Integrative Medicine, now part of the University College London Hospital trust. It provided the training sphere for developing his interests in complementary and alternative medical practice including acupuncture, homeopathy, herbal and nutrition medicine.
He became a member of the Faculty of Homeopathy in 1993, was awarded the Diploma in Musculoskeletal Medicine in 1996 by the Society of Apothecaries,
While also working as a GP in Richmond during the late 1990s, Dr Trefzer supported a well-known writer who suffered from metastasised breast cancer by co-ordinating her complementary cancer care program. The story reached the national media and Dr Trefzer gained a reputation for his integrative approach and has been sought out by many chronically ill patients including cancer patients ever since.
Dr Trefzer has been a keynote speaker for the Yes to Life Charity, speaking on the use of hyperthermia, and he had an article published in Caduceus Magazine on this topic. He has also lectured and provided teaching both in his work environment and abroad, mostly Italy. He is a Board Member of The Therapy Database, a UK-based not-for-profit organisation, to enable people to source advice for optimised treatment choices for chronic conditions, with clinical trials ongoing; and a member of the European Cooperation of Medical Ozone Societies.
From 1996-2002 Dr Trefzer had a practice in Wimpole Street practicing integrative medicine. When more floorspace was needed, he relocated to East Sussex to start up his own clinic, whilst also doing NHS GP locums for the local GP co-operatives which included many out of hours shift sessions on a regular basis.
Dr Trefzer currently works part-time at University College London Hospital, but mostly focuses his time on Hightree Medical Clinic supporting patients with acute and chronic conditions who are looking for an integrated approach or additional input to their care.
Hightree Medical Clinic became more established in 2007 as an integrative medical practice offering a range of diagnostic and therapeutic services for a wide spectrum of dysfunctions and illnesses. Using a combination of conventional clinical science and established fields of complementary health care, Dr Trefzer is able to offer a individualised health care that aims to includes its physical, nutritional and psycho-social aspects, allowing patients access to optimise their diagnostic procedures and to make informed choices during care planning.
Apart from consultations and health advice, the clinic offers a range of integrative therapies including intravenous treatments, different forms of oxygen treatment, heavy metal detoxification, hyperthermia. Dr Trefzer is well connected with many professionals in the UK and overseas and remains up to date with new and diagnostic tools and innovative treatments similar to other medical centres within the UK or abroad. He aims to advise patients on the suitability and safety of these and how to establish correspondence and corporation if applicable.

Michaela Jezzard
BA (Oxon), DipION, mBANT, CNHC
Michaela is a Registered Nutritional Therapist registered with the British Association for Nutrition and Lifestyle Medicine. She trained at the Institute for Optimum Nutrition graduating with distinction and an award for Outstanding Performance. She won the prestigious IHCAN (Integrated Healthcare & Applied Nutrition) award in 2021 opening doors to shadow and train with some of the leading professionals early on in her career. She then undertook training in Functional Medicine with IFM, USA and studied under Dr Deanna Minich in bringing together conventional Western Medicine and Eastern energy medicine, with focus on the Mind, Body & Spirit approach to Full Spectrum Health. Through ongoing clinical practice, Michaela was always driven to search deeper for answers to complex cases, this led to a great deal of research and further training, with some highlights being training under Dr Dietrich Klinghardt in Autonomic Response Testing (ART), a diagnostic technique that combines biophysics with biochemistry, Dr Datis Kharazzian in thyroid disorders, Dr Nina Fuller-Shavel and other cancer specialists in Integrative Cancer Nutrition. And BSEM for training in Ecological Medicine. She is also training in Applied PyschoNeurobiology and Mental Field Therapy to address unresolved trauma and blocked emotions as a barriers to healing.
Her specialisms include immune system disorders including cancer, autoimmunity, chronic infections such as Lyme disease and Long Covid; detox including heavy metal toxicity, environmental toxins and electrosensitivity; thyroid disorders, and parasites. While the focus is on food as medicine, she uses various modalities such as diet & lifestyle, energy medicine, colour therapy, addressing limiting beliefs and trauma resolution. She is able to arrange Functional tests and work with you to get to the root causes and imbalances driving the disease to bring the body back into balance and support the body’s innate ability to heal.
She is a member of the British Society for Ecological Medicine and coordinates the South East EcoMed Group as part of that. She is also a member of the British Society for Integrative Oncology, General Naturopathic Council, and The Institute of Functional Medicine. She has had clinics in London, Harley Street, Brighton and Eastbourne and for the past 4 years has worked at Hightree Medical Clinic in East Sussex alongside Integrative Medical Doctor, Dr Trefzer, to be able to offer more comprehensive Integrative Care that bridges the conventional and complementary worlds of healthcare. The clinic offers blood tests, spectrometry, osteopathy, PEMF, photonwave light therapy, local hyperthermia, oxygen treatments and a variety of IV treatments under the Doctor’s care.
